Did you know? Looking at art puts your brain to work.
Our brains are wired to pick out familiar patterns and extract meaning from anything we see. So, whether you’re looking at a portrait photograph, an abstract painting or something you’re not sure even is art; little neurons in your head are translating what you see into familiar forms and feels. And when you develop an emotional attachment to an image, you’re going to appreciate it that much more.
Dopamine (the love hormone) is released when looking at art, as well as increasing blood flow to our brains. Go with what you love when choosing your art.
Why Do We Hang Art?
Just as artists communicate through their art, we tell our stories and convey our emotions through the artwork we hang on our walls.
When we surround ourselves with art, we are not only creating a stylish home and pleasing environment, but we enjoy health benefits too!
- Encourages Mindfulness
- Improves your mood
- Inspires creativity
- Stimulates conversation
- Promotes childhood development
In January 2021 I began my first 365 project. This has improved my mental health, photography, and creativity. It has helped me connect with like-minded friends and see the world’s everyday awe-inspiring moments.
I now take these “Enchanted Art” images everyday but also on most family sessions or events, and they will be included in your private gallery.
Or you can buy prints directly from our online gallery to create your own.
For ideas of how to cherish your family memories, display your art or gift to a loved one, I blogged about some great ideas:
Why is Photography Important?
I’ve read that children feel safe, welcome, seen and loved if there are images of themselves in the family home. I love this idea and think this is something every family needs to know.
You see stories, memories and keepsakes are important. Life is short. Our humanity is what makes us beautiful. The light will never look or be seen the same again and neither will we. We will never have this moment again. So, let’s capture it!
