Waldridge Fell is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) near Chester-le-Street in the Northern part of County Durham, England.
The area is important as it is one of the largest expanses of lowland heath in County Durham. Lowland heath is a threatened habitat in the UK.
Waldridge Fell Country Park is a popular recreational facility for walkers, dog owners and country lovers.
Waldridge Fell and Dene
I’ve always liked Waldridge Fell to take the kids and dogs. But we love the Dene, an area of incredible beauty. Like stepping through a gateway into a magical, lush, green faery land. Entering this woodland is like entering a meditative state.
Dew on spider’s webs.
Mosses on the soft earth.
The sounds of birds singing and trickling streams.

I’ve read that children feel safe, welcome, seen and loved if there are images of themselves in the family home. I love this idea and think this is something every family needs to know.
You see stories, memories and keepsakes are important. Life is short. Our humanity is what makes us beautiful. The light will never look or be seen the same again and neither will we. We will never have this moment again.
